MITB 2018 Spotlight: Men’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match

I said in yesterday’s Women’s MITB Spotlight that I’d previewed every Money In The Bank match since I started this blog, so I couldn’t leave out the men’s match in 2018. I was looking back through old previews and noticed I used a slightly different format last year to what I’ve normally done, and I’m going to use it here too. So let’s break down the match!

The Miz

Miz

How can he be the star of the match?

By playing the spoiler role. Whenever any of the faces in the match get anywhere close to the top of the ladder, The Miz can be the one to stop them grabbing the contract. He should avoid all the high risk spots and just appear at the worst possible times for the fan favourites. Miz should also be around at the end, either to win the match or to finally get his comeuppance by getting literally knocked off his perch by the winner.

Will he actually win?

He has every chance. The Miz has proven his worth in the last two years, and it’s very possible that he can get back into a world title picture via the contract. He would actually have been my pick to win this match last year, but it was a SmackDown-exclusive PPV and Miz was moved to Raw post-Mania. A year later, it’s a tougher field with superstars from both brands, but Miz hasn’t cooled off too much. It could still be his time. Who will win the Money In The Bank Contract Match 2014

This has become a favourite annual column from me, for one of my favourite times of the wrestling year. I take a look at each of the competitors in a Money In The Bank Ladder Match and discuss their chances of winning. Last year two of my outside bets won the matches, and in 2012 I called the winners (though that column was structured slightly differently as not all the competitors had been announced at that point). This year I’m pretty confident I can call who will win, though an injury at the Smackdown tapings on Tuesday has thrown a bit of a spanner in the works. This column will focus on the contract match, not the title match. We’ll build up to the big prize. But let’s get to it! Continue reading Who will win the Money In The Bank Contract Match 2014

Night Of Champions 2012 Predictions

I’m back! After a short, unscheduled hiatus (for which I apologise) I have returned to the world of wrestling blogging! First things first, best wishes to Jerry Lawler. Here’s hoping he recovers soon and returns to the commentary desk before long! I know there’s a lot of people out there who don’t like the commentary team right now on Raw, but no one wishes this kind of thing to happen to anybody. Also a lot of credit goes to Michael Cole, Bret Hart, John Cena, CM Punk and everyone else who went out and performed on Raw for the way they handled the situation.

But in true WWE style, the show must go on, and their next show is the Night of Champions PPV in just under 23 hours time! There are 7 matches announced, plus a pre-show battle royal. So, without further ado, here we go! Continue reading Night Of Champions 2012 Predictions

Over The Limit 2012 Predictions

First of all, I want to apologise to anybody reading. At the end of the last set of predictions, I said I was working on an article looking at the main event scene in the WWE, but because of exams (and the World Heavyweight Championship match tonight) it has been put on hold, possibly permanently.

Anyways, there’s a PPV tonight, with 5 announced matches… Continue reading Over The Limit 2012 Predictions
